Connect Stripe to Get Paid

Connect Stripe so clients can pay for inspections directly through Hometrace.
Hometrace uses Stripe to handle inspection payments. Once Stripe is connected, clients can pay through your booking page and final reports, and payouts land in your bank account on Stripe's standard schedule. Setup takes about five minutes.
What you'll need
- A Stripe account (or willingness to create one; Stripe's onboarding flow lets you sign up if you don't already have one)
- Your business details (legal name, address, EIN or SSN)
- A bank account for payouts
Steps
- Open Settings → Payments in your inspector dashboard.
- In the Account Balances card, click Connect Stripe Account.
- Complete Stripe's onboarding flow: business details, identity verification, and bank account.
- When you return to Hometrace, the card shows a green Connected indicator and you're ready to accept payments.
Tips
- Hometrace uses Stripe Connect Express, so verification typically takes only a few minutes, though it can run longer if Stripe asks for additional documents.
- Hometrace charges a flat 3.25% + $0.40 per transaction. That single rate covers Stripe's variable processing fees, so you don't pay Stripe separately on top. See Payment Processing for the full breakdown.
- You can revisit the Payments page anytime to view balances, request instant payouts, or update your Stripe account details.
