Set Up Your Hometrace Site
Launch the hosted website included with Hometrace: branding, services, team profiles, reviews, sample reports, booking, and quotes.
Hometrace Sites replace the old public profile and booking page. Your site is a full hosted website for your inspection business, built from the information you already manage in Hometrace: your company details, branding, services, team, service area, reviews, sample reports, booking form, and quote settings.
You do not need to build pages from scratch. Hometrace gives you a standard inspector-focused layout, and each tab in the site editor controls one part of that public site.
Open the site editor
- Open Site in your inspector dashboard.
- Work through the tabs from left to right: Identity & branding, Team, Services, Service area, Scheduling, Price quote, Reviews, and Custom domain.
- Save changes as you go.
- Use the public URL shown in the editor to preview the site buyers will see.
Your Hometrace URL uses your inspector slug, for example hometrace.co/inspectors/summit-ridge-home-inspections. If you connect a custom domain, that domain becomes the public URL buyers can use.
Identity & branding
The Identity & branding tab controls the first impression on your site:
- Company name, logo, hero image, and brand color
- Headline and tagline
- Inspector photo, bio, certifications, and contact details
Use real photos when you can. Buyers are choosing who to let into a home, so recognizable company branding and a clear inspector bio matter more than generic marketing copy.
Team profiles
The Team tab is optional. Multi-inspector companies can add team members with photos, roles, credentials, short bios, and display order. Solo inspectors can leave this tab empty.
To open it directly, go to Site -> Team.
Services
The Services tab controls the services that appear on the public website. The service list comes from Settings -> Services and Payments -> Services & Fees. The site editor lets you:
- Choose which saved services appear publicly
- Reorder the public service list
- Edit public descriptions and public price labels
Operational prices and service durations stay managed in Services and Payments. One-off custom services added to a single inspection do not appear on your public site unless you explicitly add them to your saved services list.
Service area
The Service area tab tells buyers where you work. Configure the service-area heading, main city or region, radius label, and towns you want to list publicly.
This is display copy for buyers. It does not by itself enforce booking availability. Use the Scheduling and Price quote tabs to control booking behavior.
Scheduling
The Scheduling tab controls whether buyers can request an inspection from your site and what scheduling rules they see. Configure your booking mode, availability rules, slot length, notice window, and whether weekends are available.
Booking requests create structured requests in your dashboard. You can confirm, decline, or follow up before the inspection is finalized.
Price quote
The Price quote tab controls whether the public booking flow displays automatic quotes. Pricing rules are managed in Settings -> Services and Payments, not duplicated in the site editor.
Use Set Up Automatic Pricing and Booking for the full setup.
Reviews and sample reports
The Reviews tab controls review headings and visibility. Published reviews can appear on your site when they meet your review settings.
Sample reports come from reports you publish as examples. They help buyers see the quality and format of your work before they book.
Custom domain
Every site has a Hometrace URL. If you own a domain already, connect it from the Custom domain tab. Hometrace shows the DNS records to add at your registrar and handles the certificate after DNS is correct.
See Set Up a Custom Domain for the step-by-step.
