Feature guide

Move field evidence into a report clients can use

Hometrace organizes an inspection into template sections, subsections, specs, and findings. Inspectors add notes and photos in the mobile app, review manual and AI-assisted content in the web dashboard, then publish personalized report links to clients and agents.

Who it is for

For inspectors who want one workflow from template to delivery

The report-writing workflow supports inspectors who capture in the field and prefer a larger screen for final edits, recipient setup, payment choices, and publishing.

Reusable structure

Start from a built-in or imported template so sections, specs, comment options, and findings follow a repeatable inspection format.

Field-to-office continuity

Capture findings and photos in the mobile app, then continue editing and reviewing the same inspection in the web dashboard.

Personalized delivery

Publish to the clients and agents attached to the inspection by email and SMS, with a recipient-specific report link.

How it works

The report path from setup to publishing

A finished report is the result of structured field capture, explicit review, recipient setup, and a final publish action.

  1. Create the inspection

Add the property and date, then choose a built-in or imported inspection template.

  2. Capture findings and evidence

Use the mobile app for manual notes, photos, voice recordings, and the structured sections of the selected template.

  3. Review and finalize

Edit findings, place photos, resolve AI suggestions, add summary notes, verify synchronization, and check the finished content.

  4. Publish to recipients

Add clients and agents, choose any payment access rules, confirm publishing, and let Hometrace send each recipient a report link.

What to know

Publishing is an inspector decision

Hometrace can structure, suggest, render, and deliver the content, but the inspector is responsible for confirming the report matches the property and the work performed.

  • Resolve or dismiss every AI suggestion and Needs Review item before delivery.
  • Confirm photos have finished uploading and are attached to the intended findings.
  • Set recipient and payment-access choices deliberately before publishing.
  • Recipients can see only the content the inspector includes in the published report.
