Developer mode on the web
Turn on Developer mode
In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Security and login. Available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education.
Create the app
On the Plugins page, select the plus button, choose OAuth, and paste:

Sign in to Hometrace and approve.
Use it in a chat
From the plus menu, choose Developer mode and select Hometrace.
Pick an inspection
Ask it to find a job by address or client name, then tell it what to do.

Template import
Move your template from another system
Already have a template in HomeGauge, Spectora, ISN, Home Inspector Pro, or a Word or PDF document? Your assistant can read it and rebuild it in Hometrace. You review it before anything is saved.
What to say

- AskTell Claude or ChatGPT which system the template is from and attach the file or paste the text. Hometrace gives it the exact format to follow.
- It stages the importThe assistant sends your template to Hometrace in pieces. Nothing shows up in your account yet.
- Check the previewAsk for the preview. It lists the sections, comments, and anything it merged or could not place. Fix problems by asking the assistant to resend a piece.
- Say yes to saveWhen you approve, Hometrace creates one new template in a single step. You find it on your Templates page.
What is safe
- It always makes a new template. It never changes or replaces one you already have. If the name is taken, Hometrace adds (2).
- If the import is cut off, nothing is half built. You get the whole template or none of it.
- You can undo it. Open Changes in Hometrace and undo the import.
- Your assistant cannot delete templates, comments, or anything else in Hometrace.
- Each connection can make up to 1,500 changes a day. An import counts each piece it sends as one change, so a full template uses about 10 to 25, however many comments it holds. Previews and reads do not count.

No. The assistant runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan.
It cannot publish. Anything that would contact a client tells you who and waits for your yes.
No. It can add to your templates and import a new one. It cannot delete anything, and an import never replaces an existing template. You can undo an import from Changes.
